Australia's Premier Target Pistol Championship
The 2027 TPA ISSF National Championships brings together Australia's top target pistol athletes to compete at the highest domestic level. Sanctioned by Target Pistol Australia (TPA) and conducted under full International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) rules, this is the definitive test of precision, focus, and technique.
Hosted by the prestigious Melbourne International Shooting Club (MISC) at Port Melbourne — just 4km from the CBD — competitors and spectators alike will experience world-class facilities in a spectacular Victorian setting.
Whether you're a seasoned national-level competitor, a rising junior, or a passionate spectator of Olympic shooting sports, the 2027 TPA Nationals promises an unforgettable championship experience.
Six Olympic-standard disciplines contested across 10m, 25m, and 50m ranges
Men's & Women's open competition. 60 shots in qualification, top 8 advance to dynamic final.
Junior Men's & Women's division for competitors under 21. Future champions of Australia.
Men's event featuring explosive timed strings. Five targets, 0.4s to 8s durations. The ultimate test of speed and precision.
Women's combined precision and rapid event. 30 precision shots plus 30 rapid-fire shots across both phases.
The classic long-distance precision discipline. 60 shots in 150 minutes — the ultimate test of stillness and concentration.
Age-category medals across all disciplines for Masters (45+) and Veterans (60+). Every shooter has a podium to aim for.

MISC is Australia's premier urban shooting complex — a world-class facility that hosted the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and 2005 Deaflympics shooting events. Located just 4km from Melbourne's CBD, it offers international-standard ranges in an accessible location.

From the CBD take Lorimer St west to Todd Rd in Fisherman's Bend / Port Melbourne. Ample free on-site parking is available.
Route 109 (Port Melbourne Beach tram) runs directly to Bay Street, Port Melbourne — a short walk to the club.
Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine) is approximately 30km from the venue. SkyBus connects to the CBD; taxis and rideshare services are available.
Melbourne is well-connected by air from all major Australian cities. Regular flights from Sydney (1hr), Brisbane (2.5hr), and Perth (4hr).
Tip for competitors with firearms: Ensure your Transport Permit is current prior to travel. Interstate visitors should contact MISC directly on (03) 9646 3976 to arrange armoury storage upon arrival.

We recommend booking accommodation early — late April/early May is a popular time in Melbourne. Look for properties along the Port Melbourne–South Melbourne corridor for the most convenient access to MISC.
A block booking code for preferred rates will be published in the official Championship Bulletin closer to the event.
Competitors must hold a current TPA / Pistol Australia membership and a valid firearms licence for their state or territory. Junior competitors must have parental consent.
Complete the official registration form via the Pistol Queensland / TPA online portal. Select your discipline(s) and pay the applicable entry fees securely online.
All equipment must be declared at registration. Competition pistols and equipment are subject to ISSF technical inspection on arrival at the venue.
Arrange your transport, accommodation, and firearms transport permit. Interstate competitors should contact MISC to arrange secure armoury storage.
Register via the official TPA / Pistol Queensland portal. Entries close Friday, 28 March 2027.
